ABOUT US
The Emerald Hope Foundation is a multi-generational, volunteer group dedicated to raising funds to support cancer research and agencies that benefit patients and their families. The Emerald Hope Foundation is focused on fundraising for charities meaningful to their support group. Each year the charity selected to receive funding will be determined after input is solicited from their community of supporters. The

If the Board is unable to perform any function, they are committed to find partners to provide these services for free or at a lower cost

OUR BOARD MEMBERS
BOARD PRESIDENT: Ellen Fitzsimmons
Ellen moved to California from Ireland in 1979 and has lived in the Orange county ever since. Ellen is a semi-retired educational psychologist who lives in San Juan Capistrano with her husband Victor. Their three married children and soon to be five grandchildren live nearby. Their middle daughter Sarah, passed away five years ago after a long struggle with a brain tumor.
BOARD TREASURER: Martina Looney
Martina is a Dublin native who moved to Southern California in her teens. Martina is a Business Manager at Our Lady of Guadalupe School. She lives in Anaheim with her husband Sheamus and their three children.
BOARD SECRETARY: Kathleen Gonzales
Kathleen is an Orange County native. Kathleen works in the Special Education departments of Capistrano Unified School District. She lives in Lake Forest with her husband Jonny, two year old son and is expecting her second son any day now.
BOARD MEMBER: MaryBeth McCartan
MaryBeth was born in Lowell, Massachusetts and moved with her family to Cerritos, California. She recently retired from her position as Director of Human Resources for the Veternan's Administration and as a much loved and highly successful Irish Dancing Teacher.
BOARD MEMBER: Carol McNicholl
Carol was born in Belfast, she moved to Southern California with her husband Dick and their three children in the late 1970s. Carol lives in Long Beach. Her husband Dick passed away seven years ago after a courageous battle with a brain tumor. Carol says "With my husband passing away with two brain tumors, I felt so helpless. Now, thanks to the Emerald Hope Foundation, we can raise funds to help fight this terrible disease".
BOARD MEMBER: Erin Fitzsimmons
Erin was born and raised in Orange County. She lives in Rancho Santa Margarita with her husband David.
BOARD MEMBER: Angela Wixted
Angela was born in Dublin. She moved to Southern California with her husband Phillip in the early 1980s. They have two adult children. Angela lives in Irvine with Phillip and their son Richard.Their daughter Niamh lives in Los Angeles. She recently retired from her position at UCI.
BOARD MEMBER: Victoria Vonnahme
Victoria was born in Belfast and moved here with her parents and younger brother when she was five-years-old. She lives in Mission Viejo with her husband and three children, Victoria is employed as a Senior Social Worker in Orange County.
